Diamondback Data software easily downloads and installs on your computer. Upon installation you will enter the supplied login credentials to get started. At the software home screen you will have the option to use our Smart Select feature and immediately backup the most common folders and files on the PC. You also have the option of clicking the Backup tab to manually select the data to backup. This will allow you to see exactly what is and is not going to be backed up during the process. You always have the ability to alter your backup choices at any time.
When you have selected your data simply click Backup Now to begin. The initial "seed" backup can take some time depending on internet connection and amount of data being sent. The data is encrypted by AES 128 KEY 16 Block and sent to our data storage center where it is securely preserved until you need it. Depending on the reliability of your internet connection it is possible to receive a message indicating the backup was not successful. This is due to an interruption in your internet connection. The software will automatically restart where it left off or you can manually restart by clicking Retry Now.

After the initial backup, the software will know what new files, documents, pictures and other data is new on your system. Windows Vista has included a folder called "AppData" on your PC. The "AppData" folder contains irrelevant information as it pertains to your personal data and does not need to be backed up. To locate the folder you can click on the Backup tab from the home screen of the software. On the left side of the page you will see the folders of your PC. The folder is most commonly located under the "My Documents" folder. Make sure this folder does NOT have a check mark and therefore will not be included in your backup. This will eliminate wasted backup time. If you need assistance please do not hesitate to call our live technical support team. If you back up the "AppData" folder it will not cause any harm. It simply adds unnecessary files to the initial backup. Future backups will not be slowed down.
